You can integrate your bank with Shine, regardless of which bank you use.

You no longer need to manually upload CSV files every time you need to reconcile your accounts. This means that all your bank transactions are automatically transferred to your bank reconciliation in your accounts. This saves time and minimises the risk of importing duplicates.

Connect your bank

First time connecting:

  • Option 1: Go to Bank and select your bank (you can search by bank name)
  • Option 2: Click on Connect bank (from the overview)

You will then be taken to the AIIA page to establish the connection.

  • Accept the terms and conditions
  • Select your bank from the list of supported banks (or you can search for your bank if that makes it easier).
  • Log in to your bank
  • Select the accounts you want to connect.
  • Click on Continue and then Accept.

To complete the integration with Shine, you must also create an account with AIIA using your e mail address.

  • Enter an e-mail address

You will then receive a confirmation code via e-mail, which you must use to continue.

  • Enter the confirmation code
  • Click on Proceed

Once you have entered the code, you will be returned to Shine, where you must select the account in your chart of accounts that is to be linked to your bank accounts. By default, account 100201001 – Bank is suggested.

After approval, your connection will be established, and the system will continuously synchronise your bank lines several times a day.

If you have previously connected your bank, AIIA will remember your details.
They will simply send you a new confirmation code, which you must enter.
Then select which accounts you want to connect to, and finally select the corresponding bank account on Shine’s page as shown above.

❗️Before connecting to multiple accounts, you need to make sure you have created all your bank accounts in the chart of accounts. If you need to create some bank accounts in the chart of accounts, you can read how to do so in this article : Create a bank account (see link in our related articles).

Once all your bank accounts are created in the chart of accounts, you need to connect to them individually. You can start by connecting to the first bank account, as shown earlier in the article.

After the first connection has been made, you can switch to another bank account in the upper left corner.

After you have switched to another bank account, you will have the option to connect to it as well.

  • Click on Connect bank.

You will then be redirected to the AIIA website and receive a confirmation code via e-mail.

  • Enter the code > select your bank accounts as shown earlier in the guide.

When you return to Shine’s page, select which accounts you want to connect now.

  • We have already connected 100201001 , so in this case we need to select Bank no. 2 (you just need to select the bank account in the chart of accounts that you have created yourself).

Then repeat the process for each account until all your bank accounts are connected.
