Quote status overview

Before a quotee is turned into an invoice, it goes through several stages in Shine. 

The status helps you see whether an estimate is still being prepared, already sent, or has been answered by your customer.

 

Estimate statuses in Shine

Estimates in Shine can have the following statuses:

  • Draft – the estimate has been created and saved as a draft
  • Created – the estimate is complete but has not been sent yet
  • Sent – the estimate has been sent by email
  • Accepted – the customer has approved the estimate
  • Declined – the customer has rejected the estimate
  • Invoiced – the estimate has been converted into an invoice

 

Changing the status of a quote

To update the status, open Quotes, select the estimate and click the status field.
Choose the new status and save your changes.

Note:
Once an quote is marked as Invoiced, the status can no longer be changed.

 

Automatic status updates

When you send the quote by email, your customer can respond directly in the quote portal using Take Action to:

  • accept or
  • decline

the quote.

Shine will then update the status automatically in your account.
