You don’t have to provide any proof that you’re a freelancer in order to use Shine. However, your invoices and estimates won’t be valid if you can’t provide the information that indicates that you are a registered freelancer later. If you’re curious about how Shine works but you’re not registered as a freelancer yet, you can still sign up and try it out.
Yes. Shine is very useful for freelancers. It offers tools designed for solo professionals: invoicing, receipt management, expense tracking, banking integration, useful reports, a VAT overview and dashboards that help you stay on top of your finances so you can focus on your work, not the admin.
Yes. You can use the Free plan for as long as you like. If you want to test Start or Plus, you can do so for 60 days free of charge.
Shine supports compliant invoices. By providing professional invoice templates, allowing you to include required details (your business name, address, VAT/tax information if applicable, invoice number, date, etc), and track payments, you can keep your finances organised and avoid mistakes.
Yes. You can add any information into the invoice you need as Kleinunternehmer. (i.e. the standard “No VAT is shown in accordance with § 19 of the German VAT Act (small business regulation”). You can of course also write your invoices without VAT.
