<p>In Shine, you can define your default invoice layout and also adjust individual invoices directly in the editor — giving you full flexibility for both consistent setup and one-off adjustments.</p><h2><br>1. Default invoice settings</h2><p>You can set up your general invoice preferences once — these will automatically apply to every new invoice you create.</p><h3>Accessing your default settings</h3><ul><li>Click on your <strong>account name</strong> in the top-left corner of the sidebar.</li><li>Then select <strong>Settings</strong> from the dropdown menu and go to the <strong>Invoicing</strong> tab.</li><li>Adjust your preferences for layout, currency, language, payment details and more.</li></ul><h3>Default currency and language</h3><p>Select your main working currency and language.</p><p>If you invoice clients abroad, this helps maintain consistency.</p><p>You can always change the currency and language manually while creating a specific invoice.</p><h3>Layout</h3><p>In the <strong>Appearance</strong> section, you can personalize the visual style of your invoices.</p><p>Here you can <strong>upload your company logo</strong>, choose a <strong>font</strong>, and select a <strong>highlight color</strong> that matches your brand.</p><p>The selected color is automatically applied to key invoice elements such as <strong>table lines</strong>, <strong>total due</strong>, <strong>column headers</strong>, and the <strong>document header</strong>.</p><p>This allows you to create a professional and consistent look for every invoice you send.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2>2. Editor options</h2><p>When creating or editing an invoice, you can make additional adjustments directly in the <strong>invoice editor</strong> — without changing your global defaults.</p><h3>Currency (per invoice)</h3><p>You can issue invoices in another currency than your default:</p><ol><li>Click the <strong>Settings</strong> icon.</li><li>Select the desired currency (e.g. USD, GBP).</li><li>Only <strong>one currency per invoice</strong> is supported.</li><li>To change the <strong>exchange rate</strong>, go to <strong>“Expected amount.”</strong></li></ol><p>If you change the currency after selecting products from your product list, make sure to manually update the prices according to the new exchange rate.</p><h3>Visible columns</h3><p>Choose what details appear in your invoice rows by default:</p><ul><li>Date</li><li>Quantity</li><li>Unit</li><li>Unit Price</li><li>VAT Total</li></ul><p>You can hide or display columns depending on what’s relevant for your customers.</p><h3>Item rows</h3><ul><li>Show or hide columns (Quantity, Unit, Unit Price, VAT %, VAT Total, Row number)</li><li>Only one VAT rate per row is supported</li><li>Column names cannot be renamed or edited</li></ul><h3>Message field</h3><p>Add flexible content such as:</p><ul><li>Payment terms</li><li>Product notes</li><li>Personal messages to your customer</li></ul><p>To set a default message that appears automatically, use your account <strong>settings</strong> &gt;<strong> Invoicing settings</strong>.</p><h3>Footer</h3><p>Include information like:</p><ul><li>Legal notes</li><li>Terms and conditions</li><li>Additional company details</li></ul><p>It’s not possible to display different company details below the footnote than those in the header.</p><p>If you need to show a second address or phone number, use the <strong>Message</strong> or <strong>Footnote</strong> field.</p>
